Using Harumanis to make an ice cream might be way too much for some as it is expensive. However, I have tried to experiment on it and the ice cream is timeless, we enjoyed it so much. It's a classic treat that can be enjoyed on its own or used as a base for a variety of desserts, such as ice cream sundaes, milkshakes, and ice cream cakes. Whether you're a fan of classic flavours like vanilla and chocolate or prefer more unique and exotic flavours, Harumanis ice cream is a dessert that's sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pcs of small sized Harumanis

  • 2 cups of heavy cream

  • 1 cup of whole milk

  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt


Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.

  2. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is hot, but not boiling.

  3. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.

  4. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  5. While the mixture is cooling, prepare the Harumanis fruit by peeling and dicing it into small pieces.

  6. Once the mixture is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  7. Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm.

  8. Scoop the ice cream into bowls or cones and enjoy!
